INTRODUCING SHADOWS CANADA

Toronto, Canada, August 28^th, 2010

SHADOWS CANADA^® - a Not-for-Profit Corporation - has been established to serve as the parent organization to the Toronto Shadows Club^®and other “Shadows Clubs” in North America.

“Since conceiving of the idea back in 2001 the “Toronto Shadows Club” functioned on ad hoc basis without the benefit of a formal organizational structure or operational procedures”, says Chairman, Colin McGuffin, “on more than one occasion this led to personnel issues and financial irregularities detrimental to our purpose.”

“Our goal has always been to celebrate the music and history of “THE SHADOWS” by hosting various events for the recreation and pleasure of both musicians and non-musicians”, says David Anderson.

The three founding members - Colin McGuffin, David Anderson and George Miller have put the past behind them and are moving forward having incorporated SHADOWS CANADA^® INC as a Not-for-Profit Corporation focused on keeping the legendary music alive for the benefit and enjoyment of future generations.

George Miller comments, “Our new organization has two categories of members – performing and non-performing – with each category electing a representative to the five person executive committee, but non-members and guests will always continue to be welcomed at our events.”

Shadows Canada is the only organization in North America dedicated to celebrating the music and history of THE SHADOWS – and to providing continuing opportunities for guitarists, bassists, keyboard players, drummers and vocalists alike to perform for live audiences who come along to enjoy Shadows music and share the experience with new friends.

The Toronto Shadows Club sponsored the very successful ShadowMania Canada weekend in 2006 and continues to host their very popular club nights every six weeks in Mississauga, Ontario.

SANTA CLAUS IS

COMING TO TOWN

SAT, 12th DECEMBER
Our 6th Annual Christmas party was held at Sydney's Island Restaurant. The party was very well attended by many regulars along with numerous family, friends and several newcomers. A great evenings entertainment was enjoyed by one and all. The TSC PARTY page recalls the menu, program and pictures from the event.

MEMBERSHIP

You can choose to become a member of the Toronto Shadows Club - joining either as a Performing member or as a Non-Performing member. Members receive free admission to all regular club events and are entitled to discounts on Club merchandise. In addition, a representative from each membership category is elected to the Exective Committee on an annual basis. Memberships are renewable annually.

Of course, no-one is under any obligation to become a member and can continue to participate in club activities as a guest by paying the appropriate cover charge at each event.

HOT AUGUST NIGHT
Satturday, August 13th, 2011

Our fifth Club night of 2011 will be held at the Clock N Hen on Saturday, August 13th, 2011. Our line up of performers include The Illusions, Five -O- Eight, Keith Bailey, The Chamberlains and Fiesta Bred. We are looking forward to a great evening of top class entertainment.  Showtime is 7 pm.

For the first time we will be using a brand new state of the art sound system. We think performers and audience alike will be amazed with the sonic clarity and even projection provided by the new equipment.

Bill, the Manager at the Clock N Hen, is offering on a special Steak Dinner for $10.00, so please join us for dinner and an enjoyable evening with your fireinds, including a pair of very special fans visiting from from Belfast, Northern Ireland. A dinner break is scheduled for 8pm so that we can all dine together.
